Mark Sommerfeld
Guided by the history and transformations of water and geology, Eighty-One Fifty-Five is a poetic and topical survey of the connection between two places 8155 km apart.
Mark Sommerfeld has captured mysterious images from two histories: One in Hampi, India—a millennia-old village—and the other in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. The photographs record light, form, and the harmony of these two distinct places. Disparate and remote, these locations form an unlikely relationship that transcends time and place. The content of these photographs bridges the distance between them.
